• new partnership to boost LED at electronica & Productronica China 2010
• LED highlight topic during the show with a special zone, conference and forum

Messe München International and the Shanghai Applied R&D Public Service Platform for Solid State Lighting (LED) have formalized a partnership aimed at supporting the Chinese LED sector and facilitating international cooperation.

The partnership will be effective immediately. The partners will organize a special LED zone as well as the 4th Shanghai Innovation and Application Forum on LED Solid State Lighting held at electronica & Productronica China 2010. The show takes place from March 16 to 18, 2010 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) in Shanghai, China. The organizers expect around 350 exhibitors from leading national and international companies and over 30,000 professional visitors.

The LED special zonewill be located in Hall E5 and will showcase LED chips, packaging, manufacturing, lighting, backlighting, materials, displays, and testing equipment. The zone is intended to be an international trading and innovation platform primarily for the eastern regions of China, but also for the entire country.

The 4th Shanghai Innovation and Application Forum on LED Solid State Lightingwill be held on March 16, 2010. The event will bring together various experts, define industry trends, promote LED applications, discuss new policies and projects, foster new industries and growth points, and facilitate developments and environmental protection.

Furthermore, EDN China will be holding the LED Technology Forumon March 17, 2010. The Forum aims at bringing key industry players in the LED industry to engage in discussions on the latest technologies and developments. Forum topics are for example LED Control, LED Driver as well as LED Backlight Applications.

China is expected to outperform Japan and become the number one LED producer in the world. The expected widespread deployment of LEDs by 2015 in China is projected to save more than two times the electrical power output of the Three Gorges dam, the world’s largest hydropower project.

The market outlook for the LED display industry is very positive. With the development of the LED instruments and materials as well as the improvement of the technique of control circuit the full-color screen can be widely used in indoor and outdoor projects with lower costs. Markets in the field of outdoor advertisement for example sports, transportation, performance, exhibition etc. are prosperous.
